The Mating Plan 2010 is finished

good mixture of proven and young stallions

Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg plan to caver 15 mares in 2010. All matings can be viewed under Breeding Records.

As four homebred fillies CENT CHEVEUX BLANC, FLAMES TO DUST, LA MARTINA and LA REINE NOIR have been added, as well as KALAHARI DANCER been purchased at the Tattersalls December Sales, the active broodmare band has grown further. CENTAINE will not be covered due to her late foaling date and 23yo QUEENS WILD might only be covered if she foals very well.

Most of the stallions are proven. In the just published APEX-list  DALAKHANI is the leading stallion aged younger than 20, whereas MONTJEU follows on position 4, having sired the leading 2yo in Europe in the past season as well. Both stallions are now established as sources for classic potential. Big steps forward in 2009 made HIGH CHAPARRAL and ROCK OF GIBRALTAR, who are listed on 9 and 11 on that list. Of the old boys HERNANDO and SELKIRK have proven many times why they are listed under the TOP 75 in the world. Champion in 2009 was DUBAWI and he produced two Groupwinners in his first crop.

Completely unproven horses will bee used as well, but ARCHIPENKO, NAAQOOS and TAMAYUZ are all international Gr.1 winners out of serious good female families and deserve a chance.

LAWMAN, SHIROCCO and SIR PERCY have no runners so far, but as Classic Winners  out of very good families, you have to be hopeful and their foals respective yearlings looked very promising.
