14/03/11 MUIR won Adelaide Cup

son of BELLE ALLEMANDE now Gr.2 winner

The former JOHANN ZOFFANY (Galileo-BELLE ALLEMANDE), now named MUIR won the Adelaide Cup, Gr.2 in Australia. His dam BELLE ALLEMANDE was one of the two first horses at Schlossgut Itlingen, when Graf and Grafin Stauffenberg started there in 1999. BELLE ALLEMANDE is a sister to their dual Classic winner QUE BELLE. Due to the sale of QUE BELLE, her dam QUI BID was leased from Hedgestone Management to be bred to ROYAL ACEDEMY.

The resulting foal was born in Canada, but traveled to Germany as a weanling. Originally the plan was to keep that filly for breeding. But as the costs to refurbish Schlossgut Itlingen BELLE ALLEMANDE was sold as a yearling in Deauville to 6 C Racing Ltd, who sold her on. Now she produced MUIR, who was purchased by Demi O'Byrne as a weanling and won 2 races when trained by Aidan O'Brien.
